Josep Perez

Josep Perez originates from Barcelona, Spain but calls Canada his home since 1976. A graduate of Barcelona Technology School with a degree in industrial engineering, Josep has travelled the world extensively from Europe to Africa and Latin America, eventually settling in Canada where he worked with McDonald Douglas and Chrysler Canada as an engineer for more than 30 years. Josep is also multilingual - fluent in English, French, Catalan, Spanish and Portuguese – and, over the years has provided interpretation and translation services to various governmental and cultural institutions.
As a proud Catalonian, Josep is one of the founders and a two-term elected President of the Catalan Centre of Toronto, a multi-purpose community centre that provides space, programs and services to meet the recreation and social needs of the local Catalan community in the province of Ontario. In his current role as a Board member of the International Peace Festival, Josep is committed to fostering a sense of community for citizens around the world, promoting civic engagement and enhancing the quality of life through their community, recreational and social service programs.
